my critique is it looked like something happened to the picture, it looks spotty, i see light and dark areas, is this shadows or and attempt at hdr maybe?

try longer exposures for fireworks, i usually set to bulb and with a remote trigger open the shutter before the burst and leave it open to expose the trails, usually 6 or 7 secs. you get good at timing really quick.

kind of sucks that the 11 dopes who voted 1, 2 or 3 kept you from a ribbon. looking at the avg for the participants you got sabotaged.
