Prickly new cactus budsby MelethiaComment: I think this has excellent detail, very crisp. The white tips give the indication that this could hurt when it matures, but not quite yet. The DOF is excellent. I did vote this a 6, and the reason it wasn't higher was it just didn't capture my attention for long enough. |

The Old Barn and Iby nards656Comment: I'm going to comment without looking at other comments first, that way my perspective isn't affected by others opinions. For the challenge... I didn't vote in this one, but probably would have given you a 5. Whenever you put a person into the photo, it becomes the subject and you don't look that old. Without the challenge... it is a very nice picture, but one that would only appeal to people who know you. It reminds me of a vacation (I was here) type picture. If you could have done this at night and lighted up more of the barn and put yourself in silhouette (I know, that's bizarre!) in the opening, then you probably could have blown the competition away! |

Lost in the woods ages agoby timfythetooComment: Well, you exceeded the score you hoped for so I guess you're happy. I didn't vote in this challenge but I probably would have considered the bench old, but not the teddy. Things that are well maintained hardly ever put out that impression. But the shot on it's own (meaning without a challenge to consider)is beautiful and something that I would hang in a child's bedroom for art. The photo seems to have a story bookish feel to it. It tells me a story, or I could make a story to go with it. So congrats! I think that it would sell well if you decided to make it a print. |

are you done ?by DanSigComment: I thought this was very well done, I voted this an 8 during the challenge. I personally like the soft focus with kids (as you can see whenever I enter one). You generally tend to get banged for that here. But this is an adorable picture that you can treasure and that counts more than a score here. |

OUCH! Sharpby tngrndreamComment: I'm going to comment without looking at other comments first, that way my perspective isn't affected by others opinions. I think this wasn't believable due to the fact that though you see the blood, you don't see a cut. I actually did vote on this during the challenge and gave it a 4. Also, it doesn't really convey the "new" feeling. On the plus side, the DOF on the finger is excellent. |

A New Castle Awaits the Coming Tideby chaliceComment: I scored this a 6 in the challenge. Though it met the challenge well, it just seemed not to have any type of wow factor. Maybe too much sand (browns). IMHO, I think a closer crop or a vertical take with more of the ocean showing and less of the sand would have improved this. |

Available, first month freeby ericwooComment: I'm going to comment without looking at other comments first, that way my perspective isn't affected by others opinions. That said, the DOF is excellent and you can almost feel the splinters coming off the wood. There does seem to be a color cast of some type (haze), maybe too much green? As far as this particular challenge, it's seems more broken than old to me which is why you probably didn't score higher. Overall I really like the picture. |
