Thanks for your comment. Black bears (the species) avoid human contact. They run the other way when encountering a human. Totally gentle and mostly vegetarian. Not to be confused with grizzlies, brown bears and polar bears farther north. Those species do stalk humans, when they get a chance. |
I'm not certain you have comforted me, but i appreciate the lesson very much. My rule will still be "if see bear, run and don't try to classify it!" |
