Bubbly Worldby AllenPComment: I wish there was more of this in focus. Or rather than the wall of focus was back a little towards the centre of the ornament (broach?). Nice setup, and warm. Would have preferred not being able to see the light in the reflection too... but that's not a big problem. 6. |

Contemplationby vawendyComment: Definitely the best choice out of the possible out takes. I love the reinforcement of leading lines with the harsh shadows, vertical struts and supporting ones too. Border works well with it too. I didn't vote in this challenge (was too annoyed with mis-choosing my own entry!) but it would have received a 6 or 7 from me. |

For You by vawendyComment: Excellent. Wow. really good. Smells like a ribboner to me so far (23% of the way in). It looks like it's presenting you with the thing. Awesome. |

Built for Workby GarryComment: Hmm. I liked this shot. I gave it 7. I liked the lines and curve of the wheel along with the texture of the tyre and the contrasting yellow and black.
One problem is that the bright spot draws the eye to the bottom right. You must realise that this competition was titled "wheels"... which suggests that the eye should instead be drawn to the wheels in your shot. The centre of the wheel pulls me away from the black rubber every time. The yellow is at the intersection of two thirds lines, which is normally where you'd want to put your main subject for a thirds composition. I think that's why I'm being drawn towards it.
I like the tight crop. It saturates the viewer with 'wheel'... I don't think that's a bad thing... but I'm no great photographer :) I just like what I like and I liked that! |
