All Inby smardazComment: As she said herself there's a lot of attitude in this image. The eyes stare you down. Very nice.
The only criticism I can say here is that in your notes you said you got her to spike up her hair. It's very difficult to see that with the image. It might have been possible to selectively lighten the hair a tad to give the attitude more umph. Perhaps not though. The face is great. It's the focal point of the image really. So maybe if the hair was more noticable it would have taken away from that. It's hard to say without seeing what happens to the image when that's done.
Perhaps there's a bit too much of a nose shadow under her nose too. And of her left hand on her arm/shoulder. Though maybe this adds to it. I don't know. I certainly wouldn't have taken marks off for it anyway. |

0. . . .0by smardazComment: I'm not sure what to say about this other than 6.2 for a portrait in a free study--nice work! The border here is excellent. I don't think it hurts the image at all. It 'really tied the room together' as a dude once said.
The only criticism I can draw from this image is to do with the lighting. Mostly I think it's excellent. But there's a dark shadow of her right ear on her face. It's hard to say, but I think that was that not there it would have worked better. Just a small thing that I doubt would be greatly noticed at all. I think it would have been nice to see how her hair falls there is all.
Great portrait though. Great processing and capture and lighting. |

Can't Be Fenced Inby SocomComment: Nice clouds! Was the image black'r and more contrasty I think it could have had much more of an ominous feel to it. Really love the clouds. Such power. |

Chaining the Gateby Bear_MusicComment: I like the way you can process images well on vacation. I can hardly do it with lots of leisure time! :) |

Freedom by gyabanComment: I'm so happy you broke 8! I knew you would, but if truth be told never dreamed you would so soon. Congratulations on the blue, a pb, a wonderful image and to the small and elite 8+ club! :-) |

somewhere over the rainbow...by LelezComment: Is this Iguazu? It looks like it might be. I like the composition of this.
Took some shots of it myself when I was there. Lovely place.

Look Upby HawkinsTComment: I quite liked this. It was interesting and brought thoughts of looking out of a gun barrel to mind when I saw it. I did think that the blacks were cut off a little (only a personal preference though) and I did think a tighter crop from the left would have benefitted the image (personal preference again).
However, think of the challenge--point of view. This is one of the best captures of a unique and interesting point of view so well done on that! I'd say you'll get a PB for this without too much trouble. I gave this a 6. |
