Score chartby william88Comment: The problem with scoring so high is that you need so many over-average scores to counteract a 1. With your score only 2 options would bring up the score, while the others would all pull it down. So recovery from trolls are slow. It's a sad trend! All the time going down. Congrats on a wonderful entry, score, interesting chart and perplexing setup!
(I didn't vote, but I'm nearly sure I'd've brought up your average) |

vs.by geinafetsComment: I thought this was a nice picture. And I gave it a 6.
I don't see the crop doing a whole bunch for it, though. I think with how the picture is flowing from right to left it might have benefitted from a crop omitting most of the foliage to the left (from about a third of the way from the left). That would give the photo a flowing composition something like this (rotated, of course) which is something I find very pleasing.
It didn't have much else that I could see to warrant giving it more marks, sorry :) Nice shot, as I said. And my views on it are completely personal, so you don't have to agree with me! :D |

Tinaby MikeComment: As I said I liked this image a lot and gave it a 7. Tones in the background are nice. Brings out the face. There is a potential point of 'concern' for people voting whereby they may justify bringing it down as a result of loss of detail/textures in the face, and as it's a little difficult to find the edge of the nose. Eyes are nice. Not overdone. Nice detail in the iris. Sharpness is great.
A 7 is a good score. I can't fault it :) But nor could I vote it higher as it didn't have that zing that I think a photo needs to get higher for me. |

outpostby BrennanOBComment: How odd. The flag is blowing, but the wind vain isn't... you get an extra point for bizarre physics. |

Parrot Portraitby Eagle40Fox2Comment: Nice image and sharpness and lighting and tones.
I think for a sepia challenge the subject should fit in with the sepia nature of the shot. Looking at this I can't help but want to see it in colour!
Probably a personal thing. Still though. If that's my only fault with it you're getting a 7. |
