gownsby oldbimmercoupeComment: This caught me attention right away. I been returning to look and try to understand why. I suspect the contrasts of color and texture are a significant reason. There's also the contrast of horizontal repetitions with vertical lines. Enough analysis - it's a very effective entry. Here's some bling to go with it.

this is not the real worldby NeatComment: This is for you...
A new bit of personalized bling from someone uniquely unqualified to make artiistic judgements. That said...
This is remarkable. It's ascending; it's submerged; it's flying; it's abstract and not. This is definately not the real world. You get the first ever, BTC Blue. Appropriate that it should be awarded in a challenge of the same name. Message edited by author 2015-06-26 00:45:40. |

Vivid no moreby MadMan2kComment: I'm enjoying being part of the DPL "First 10" side challenge. Yours is photo #9 in my random voting stream for the Pastels III Challenge.
So envious. By the time I got my pastel shooting moment, I was so hoping to find an old fading car like this, but the closest I could get was one driving the opposite direction when I couldn't turn around and give chase. Nice subject for the challenge. Kudos. |

Wow! Obviously manipulated color editing, but what an eye catcher! |

Color and implied softness worthy of the challenge. I like the variation of yellows. Not so much the upper left brightness or the expanse of deep green to the right. |

As Light As a Featherby ursulaComment: I'm enjoying being part of the DPL "First 10" side challenge. Yours is photo #10 in my random voting stream for the Pastels III Challenge.
It's a feather? No, a pastel. Wait it's a puzzle macro. Whatever, it's well composed and processed with a nicely balanced composition. Cool. |

Nicely set off from the BG. An interesting position - not sure I've seen this tableau with tail feathers and wings in action on a hummingbird. That said, it's likely because I don't take much time with them... not a big fan, but this certainly shows off hummingbird feather in a cool way. |

I'm not sure what to think of this. It seems to be stuck between abstract and representational. Interesting lines and arcs, and an attention grabbing band of sharp focus that catches the rachis nicely along its path. Add a bit of mystery from the left frame and a couple of handful of sensor dust spot, and you've got this enigma of a photo. Did I mention I'm not sure what t think of this? |
