kiss of the sunby ralphComment: One of my favorites for this challenge. The wider aspect works well with the main subject balancing the interest of the fountain patterns on the left. I might have cropped even tight to the foreground right girl to remove the background couple on the right. Very cool! |

Ruggedby sfmorrisComment: One of my favorites for this round. Great expression and reflection of character. The toning works well, too. Hope to see it do well! |

look aroundby mitalapoComment: There's a wonderful ambiguity of figure and ground in this. Definitely a top pick for me. |

In the Deepby namComment: Very effective composition. Tilting this really makes it stronger. |

Sinusoidal Sands by ecmguyComment: Top pick for me. So well done, technically - and a really effective use of tilt/rotation to create a powerful abstract effect. |

Sweet and Darkby wbanningComment: Originally posted by giantmike: The focus feels just the slightest bit off. I want the beans/sugar to be tack sharp, but what I'm seeing is the cup handle tack sharp. |
I've been frustrated with what seems to be an inevitable loss of sharpness when posting here. I'm using CS5 to resize my images to the max allowable 800 px with bicubic sharper option. This seems to create a better version than what I see once uploaded to DPC. Any suggestions out there? |
