Technically, this is really good. Can't fault the focus or exposure. I'm not sure the idea has been executed as well as you would like. I was a little unsure about what is being broken. Still, after all the fuzzy, thoughtless pics I'm going through... I appreciate hitting some like this. ~indi

Nice job!! I think you executed this well. It works in B&W - gives it more severity. The placement of the piece of paper seems a little strange...like he's holding it up just for the camera. Could have worked without it probably just as well. Overall, it's a great pic and fits the challenge well. ~indi

I really like this shot. A couple of nitpicks tho. The light is just a little too bright in the center- esp along the edge of the leg. I also don't like seeing the carpet. If it would completely blend in with the bg then it would be cool, but I don't like seein git along the bottom edge or the fact that it cuts off the bottom of the shoe. This would do much better in a snapshot challenge or candid. It's one of those "found" shots that don't usually do as well as the more controlled, artsy pics. It is a sad commentary on the American diet tho. Those look more like donuts than onion rings. They are HUGE!
I'm not really sure how you could have improved it. Maybe taken it from the other side so you could see the mother's expression and not cut off the boy's knee. Good Luck! ~indi
