Woof!by hernan43Comment: Cute photo for the challenge. Interesting that you went black and white here. Normally I find that B&W works best for highly textured subjects, as it accentuates the details, but it works nicely here too. |

Yellow Birdby roniComment: Hi roni, I see you are new here. I notice in your comments you said you "painted" the bird yellow. While there are some legal way to do this in basic editing (depending on the scene), this one strikes me as a time when a local edit was made. Notice that this is a Basic Editing challenge, so if someone had requested validation of your image and you did use a local edit, your image would have been DQed. Just a heads up! |

New Lifeby AllenPComment: Great details and depth of field. I'm sure this will be beautiful when it opens, but I find it very cool how you chose to photograph it before the typical shot would be taken. |

Zebras by scooter88Comment: Wonderful scene and great use of depth of field. Going black and white with this subject is risky (in my mind) but you did it well with nice contrast. |

Imperial Jezebelby bcenuComment: Nice subject, and nice job fitting the challenge. But this photo feels very over sharpened to me. For instance, look at the antennae and notice how there is this vey distinct white edge around them that isn't natural? That's what really keying me into an over-sharpened effect. |

untitledby bmartuchComment: Hmm, so I'm torn on if this fits the challenge or not. One could argue the tips of the steeples are in the rule of thirds areas, so it works. But to me, this is a center composition, which is completely un-rule-of-thirds. |

Spring is Nearby crikComment: I like what you were trying with this, with the complimentary colors. But the sharpening is overdone to the max. You can actually see individual pixels, which is almost never a good thing. |

The Visitorby franktheyankComment: Nicely done. I'm sure some one like that this face is partially covered, but being a "sneaky" raccoon, hiding behind some brush seems appropriate and accentuates the photo nicely. |

Winter in Redby kvickreyComment: Great job separating your subject from the background in now only focus but also colors. The slight texture to the background keeps it from being boring. |
