Very minimalistic approach to the challenge. Fits the requirements well, but I'm not feeling much of a connection to this photo.

Very creative technique. It's interesting how there is that one spot of green bokeh in the upper right of the mirror/lens/whatever that is.

Always fun to catch lightning, but to do well, you need more interest (either in the lightning or the surroundings. Having much of the lightning covered up by the building and trees is realyl hurting.

Interesting choice of subject. I have to wonder if you are getting low votes due to the most stand-out subject material is the closest.

I like how the processing of this image really helps to concentrate the eyes on the subject.

I have scored this a 5. There are a couple of reasons for this:

1) This is a Memoir challenge, and a memoir is autobiographical in nature. So this must mean that the photographer has died, but in fact you posted this image. That un-realism means a lot in this challenge (at least to me).

2) This evokes empathy, but not real sadness for me. While I feel their pain, I'm not feeling my own pain.

3) There are some technical flaws. For instance, the candles have no detail and there is a lot of noise in the dark areas.

I hope this helps you understand my thinking (and possibly the thinking of other voters.

I'm really glad that you got this shot with activity in the building. That really adds to the story.

That's one good looking burger. I like the perspective, but there seems to be an odd yellow color cast caused by the lighting.

The perfect summer combination. I would like to see more of the place, and less of the street.
