Happy Halloweenby MinsoPhotoComment: Originally posted by nodster: I liked this, it was a very different take. My only nit pick would be I don't like the string holding up the pumpkin, but not sure if basic editing would allow a cloning of the string out though???? |
no cloning in Basic. I should have composed differently but you live and learn. |

Playing in the Weedsby Snowboard3rComment: I like your composition on this. Some may say you should put her on one of the thirds (rule of thirds) but I think centered with the grass framing her is great. What is not so great is the light. Judging by the shadows you took this midday with the sun overhead. This causes raccoon eyes. Best times to shoot (well mostly everything) is during the golden hours. Generally 1-2 hours after sunrise and before sunset. That is not always practical so if you cant try to shoot in open shade (standing in shade but when you look up you see sky) or you could also make sure the sun is behind the subject and use a reflector to fill in the face (this could be as simple as you wearing a white shirt and letting that reflect light back. |

Frozen Spiralby Snowboard3rComment: Per your request. I think you managed to meet the challenge by finding a unique natural formation which is definitely cool. But it was not photographed in a unique way and it really looks like a snap shot. The lighting is very flat but I think the biggest downfall is that it is just too busy. The ice formation is interesting but you lose much impact with all of the leaves and branches/twigs everywhere. I think if you could have kept the ice but physically removed much of the distracting elements that would help. The colors are very boring, its ice and rock so not much you can do about that but I contrasty black and white conversion would make it more interesting. Don't be disheartened, many of us start here just learning our ways, just look at some of my first entries. I hope this helped some, if you have any other questions feel free to PM me. |

Irrational Relationshipby gyabanComment: Do you ever get tired of all the comments :) It goes without saying but your setup and execution is just amazing. You are an inspiration and a drive to better my own work. Well done. |
