A Balancing Act by h2Comment: What are those things you have been stacking up like that? There are 6 of them. Yeah, your number of ribbons you have collected this year so far :) Congrats! |

Libraby RamblinRComment: Outstanding picture! The lighting is so amazing and you have a very interesting subject. Great effort to get this shot. Vignette transition areas might be be a bit abrupt which makes it look like the model is standing in the middle of a giant circle, but perhaps you intended it to be that way for a reason. Best in challenge. 10! |

Portrait of Gintareby LaimaComment: What an outstanding photograph! I stopped and froze as soon as I saw it. I like her pose, her expression, and your processing in this. Some might complain about her hair running over her face but I think it makes it look more organic and works for a photo with an old feel and look like this one. Not sure if Weston has done any Sepia work or just all in pure B&W but it doesn't really matter. Best in challenge. 10! |

Claire Bemderby njsabsComment: Very unique entry. I assume you intentionally didn't want to give it more contrast. After having looked at Weston's images, it seems to me, he tried to give his images good amount of contrast. I think the lack of contrast might hurt your score a little bit, but I still like the "old photo" look you have given to this. Bumping this one to 8. I like it even more now. |

Fisherman by AllenPComment: The moon reflection is pretty easy. After extracting the moon from the original picture and importing it into the new one, it will sit on its own layer in Photoshop. Just duplicate the layer, invert it vertically, position it where it makes sense, add some Gaussian blur to it, and maybe some other filter like glass or ocean ripple so it fits in better in the water. The light on the Fisherman is natural light. The photo was taken before it got dark, I made it look like it was taken at night in post-processing. |
