Composition is weak, harsh shadows, DNMC, etc. My apologies, as I realize these are probably very special to you, and I don't want to detract from what this image means to you, but it simply doesn't work in this challenge, at all.

You know, I want to like this, the reflections in the cut, the excellent lighting, the perfect exposure...

But you know what? I don't! I'm sorry. I think it's probably the busy feeling of the composition, I think the flowers might be distracting, and I know the lid tilt is. *shrug*

I'm giving you a 7 for getting the technical details perfect.

People may dislike the blue cast in the background, but for me it offsets the yellow wonderfully.

Man, I HATE to say this, but it's not light on white for me, those leaves are dark - if you'd only overexposed some to make them lighter it would have just knocked my socks off. As is? I've gotta give you a 6 because it hit me so strongly, but I really want to give you a DNMC 4.
