I've come back to this one about 8 times. I really like the lines in the shoes and the sharp lines in the floor. The drop off in depth of field in the front and the noticeable part line in the floor bother me. When I put my hand over the bottom half, about where that part line in the floor is, make this a horizontal layout, it begins to work for me.

On my laptop, this image is ok. On my Eizo color corrected / full gamut monitor, the background has been treated too much in post processing. Neat idea, I think I would like the boot coming at me at a 45 degree angle or so to add a bit of depth.

When I look at the composition for a while, it almost looks like two separate guys wearing the same pants and boots. I think I'm not seeing enough of the cowboys legs to get the photo. Nice exposure, good use of depth of field.

My guess is this is a lot of HDR work, or perhaps high sharpening. A bit over the top for me, although the colors are very strong.
