Oh God, I was saying to myself: how can he find always new situations in his small village and then I realized you've taken the shot here in Italy. No matter where you are, you can always find what you are searching for - congrats :)

I can't believe this scored a 5.89... IMO it should be in the TT. Good effort Tom, next time the score will be better :)

A wonderful moment, a beautiful family. Trying to figure out why it scored where it did...maybe the crop? It almost seems that a more square crop with the baby and Mom at opposite corners may have been more conventional and scored better. But personally, I like the lines on the left and the tree over Mom's head on the right. Well done.

Maybe it didn't get a better score because some people could see it as a sort of snapshot. It's not a snapshot because I had the challenge title in mind but I didn't sacrifice our beautiful day for a more studied shot. You're right, the crop was the main issue: I had to crop on the right because of an electricity pole right behind her. The square crop is something I almost never use, and i liked the lines in the left as well.

Thanks for all the comments.

As frequently happens I have a lot of things in mind but I should not waste them. Next time I'll spend more time on planning how the elements should be in the scene.

To tell the truth I have to say that Samantha's image is quite different from mine. My image has a lot of photographic elements and a realistic 'feel' (not enough to judge it a photo but less unrealistic than my Sagittarius entry). Some of those 1s could be attributed to some sort of American pride IMHO. In any case this was not intended as something against USA, but against humankind in general because of its attempt of destroying this world).

At the end of the story it's my fault, this image could have been better, and next time it will :)

Your skills are great as usual Samantha, but maybe there are too many elements in the scene. Just one week is very few time to get a super shot with all this stuff to create.

I was surely not happy with the blending result of the statue. I left it as the last thing to fix, but it was late to properly think about its blending. But I couldn't get rid of it since it was the engine of the my main idea. Still I don't think that the blending of the statue can be the reason for receving a lot of 1s, since I can see the vast majority of the other entries very poorly edited, so one element can be the reason for this voting. I surely agree that most of the time 'less I more'... I should never forget it!
