Great compo. Nice distinct elements to look at around the shot. Odd brown hues though. Pity you didn't get a shot of yourselves bursting with loud colourful shirts standing out like sore thumbs on a drab pier :)

Nice pose, catchlight, tail feather definition. I think Portrait Orientation at time of shot would have been more pleasing and not so tight on head and tail as landscape orientation? The noise is pretty chronic from pushing the brightness or ISO at time of shot? Would be nice to see the EXIF info. Is that a gutter in the BG? One step forward and a lower angle, higher aim would have avoided it :)

This is an honest raw photo with little or no DPC formulae (angry busy blue sky, boosted colours, overly crisp), yet earthy tones, sharp and DOF. Perhaps the subject is a bit too central but that's OK. It reminds of my slide days using Agfa or Fuji. Whilst the shot is no doubt contrived/setup, it's appealing and DMC.

I like it, and it is very similar to another winner 9 year ago :) but you missed the sharpness on the yacht. I'd prefer it there rather than where it appears to be; on the sun's reflection in water bottom foreground?
