The Leaf Eaterby vawendyComment: Perfect. Exactly the spirit of the challenge. Cute vote. Not sure the lack of detail in the eye will be noted by hasty voters but still a 7. |

Going Placesby MondComment: Semantics, I've sent you a lengthy PM. Suffices to say what do you call life in the wild then?

Black Swanby NeatComment: I've just noticed that Avg (commenters): 5.0000! That means the other two commenter̢۪s gave you a any one of these combinations 5 and a 4, 6 and a 3, 7 and 2 or 8 and a 1 (With my 6 equals an average of 5...) |

Black Swanby NeatComment: I gave it a 6 btw Anita. I don't believe punishing someone for their interpretation of processing. And for me a 5 (or less) is punishment. What did the colour shot look like? Possibly a 7 in Colour where 90% of the shot would have been black or grey and just the red bill standing out. Black and white in Wildlife is used for more dramatic and emotive work. |

Going Placesby MondComment: Beautiful exposure, greens and red and blacks very well represented and accurate. Focus appears to be on the lady birds back (reflection) and not the "eyes" or front mandible area. Not fond of the eye catching grasses leading from middle left into the picture nor the wood "railing" (?) or hand of man (man made object) in a "Wildlife" challenge. Wildlife photography avoids these things, and presents wildlife without it, even whilst it is becoming more difficult to find true wild in it's shrinking environment. Although the challenge description gives some leeway in this regard I am a purist. There is a difference between a nature image (non or captive animal in a man made environment) and a wildlife image even though your subject is wild and obviously not captive. |

i'm beautiful, he is shyby mrbig65Comment: I don't like the hand of man (man made objects) in a WILD-life challenge. However the birds are "non-domesticated" and it's cleverly titled. DMC wrt to the birds but the structure makes this "nature" not "wildlife" imo. |

One is the lonliest numberby MinsoPhotoComment: A very beautiful minimalist image which I like a lot. Sadly the wire is man made and as a wildlife photographer I believe the hand of man should not appear in a wildlife image-challenge even if the animal is non domesticated. Bumped to 6 as the challenge interpretation is rather vague and open ended. |
