The grape garden grows no wine before its timeby bohemkaComment: I want to thank everyone for their comments. They've been really helpful. This was my first go at this so there's much to learn.
To answer some of the questions (this is more for me than you since I doubt anyone will check back)...
I had limited time to shoot and didn't have a good vantage point with an expansive view of the vineyard, so I stuck to the sky, which was working at the moment.
The small size is just me being a rookie. I didn't know how to save the file at the proper size without compromising quality, so I made the image size smaller. I also had PS set to CMYK instead of sRGB so I lost a lot of the color anyway, but didn't know what I was doing at the time. I fixed it for the next challenge, but blew it anyway because my monitor is clearly not calibrated correctly, as now that I'm at work my photo looks a lot different than when I submitted it. :-(
As for the white balance, that's an excellent idea. I played with colors a lot but didn't want it to look too over-processed. A WB adjustment would have helped a lot.
Thanks again!

Hi there, Erpolzheim is on the Deutsche Weinstraße in Rheinland-Pfalz, in between Bad Dürkheim and Freinsheim (west of Mannheim).
A very gloomy week and this was taken during the two hours it wasn't pouring. |

Brand New Dayby DennisheckmanComment: I'd be repeating the crowd I suppose if I said great colors!, but I'll say it anyway. Nice one. |

Sun Dial on an Overcast Dayby dtremainComment: Not enough here, I'm afraid. Maybe a different angle would have brought out the dead plants a bit more, or framed the sun dial around the gazebo or whatever you want to call that column structure. Tough right now... trust me, I know. But while I still rated this high I would have rated it higher with a bit of a different composition. |

Vine by jomariComment: Cool composition, but a bit over-processed me thinks. Some of the leaves look a bit out there, while others look fine. Either way, I really like it. |
