The range of tone and texture is so abstract, so seamless and flowing without tethers that it should be unexplainable, and yet it's entirely obvious and grounded in reality. Fantastic image.

Clouds

Nice subject. Beautiful shot, with interesting textural contrast between the fluffy clouds and the smooth snow with jagged ridge line.

Two criticisms: I'd like to see some greater extremes of black and white. Some greater contrast from slope to slope and cloud to cloud would make this pop quite a bit more. I think a levels adjustment is in order. It seems very low-contrast and locked in the midrange. It could use a greater spread I think.

Also, I see a bit of noise in the clouds. A bit of blur tool would knock that out quickly, or of course noise ninja or neat image, or even a simple gausian blur.

Sweet shot though.

I think this could be used as instructional material on composition. The smooth flow pulls our eyes down the falls and then they circle back up that rock path into the rest of the picture to arrive at the pinnacle. Rinse. Repeat. It's quite amazing. Very well done.

The contrast in this photo is nearly unending. Of course light vs. dark, but there's the major known vs. unknown theme at play, as well as well defined vs. the ambiguous. And on. Great sense of depth, enhancing the story. Fairly mesmerizing.

He was certainly the master of suspense, but he never displayed this much grace. Well, maybe in his dreams. This is quite a beautiful shot. The unbearable lightness of contrast and tones.

Sweet stuff. Great lines, wonderful crisp detail in the pavement and trees, and some nice silvery tones in the sky. Interesting contrast galore. My kind of shot.

The Lakeside Dock

Great photo. I love these tones, and the texture and detail in the dock is really rich. The motion-blurred clouds are a bit of a distraction, but on the other hand it's an interesting contrast with the super sharp lakefront scene on the other side. Nice stuff.

Another interesting crop for you would be a pano-type crop (maybe about 3 x 1?) that would put the lakefront horizon at the top third of the image. This would make that wonderful dock even more prevalent, as well as the interesting other side of the lake. It wouldn't have worked here on DPC though with the presentation size limitations.

Strong geometrical shapes and strong contrast between lights and darks and circles and squares/rectanlges. Really unique perspective. The plane is a nice touch as well. Great shot.

Well done. Nicely lit and great contrast to highlight the detail in the feather. The blur of the face really draws attention to the shallow focal depth and adds a bit to the story. Nice stuff.
