Escapementby rooumComment: Nice texture. Like two overlapping documents, one or both of which are frayed. Nice lines. I prefer a wider range or transition of grey tones to the black vs. white, but I like this image a lot. |

The Edge Of Winterby HipychikComment: The contrast is quite nice and the composition is interesting with the lines on the slope. If you could have gotten a bit more gradient in the sky, fading from grey to white, and just more tonal range overall (this seems dark and light only) this would be a truly excellent photo. Not voting, just commenting. |

Peek-a-Booby garryyoungComment: Pretty cool. It's like a cartoon balloon of what she's thinking. Clever capture. I have to say this challenge has left me flat and I'm not going to vote and this is the only one I'll comment on. Thank you. |

It does rain in L.A.by curtpetguyComment: ...and the inhabitants have raced to erect a Stonehenge-like memorial to commemorate said rain. Great depth. I think I would have moved that big center rock to the right or left a bit (in the frame, of course) to get more of a leading line and so it didn't dominate the foreground, but it's a small preference. Also, the entire scene seems to slant right, though that may only be an optical illusion. Even if it is, I try to fix those things, as the view is more important than reality. But it's a very nice photo. |

Stand The Test of Timeby hesitantComment: Quite amazing how the composition framed this perfectly. The breakers in the foreground, obviously, provide a great natural frame for the lighthouse, but the clouds are rolling in and framing it from above in nearly the identical shape. Additional leading lines with the trough running toward the lighthouse. Shipyard cranes in the distance really add depth. Great shot. |

Reach for the Skyby NeilComment: There's great movement that pulls you into the significant depth of this photo. Like there's a giant sucker in the sky somewhere out there. That was not a crack on religion. Great texture in the grass and detail in the clouds. Really, really nice. |

Bon soirby buffysneeComment: This is a great take on this spot. Every time I'm there I struggle with how to get what has to be a great shot but something a bit different. This is really well composed and processed. Lovely reflection. Good one. |

cupby enizmonComment: This is quite nice. Excellent low key treatment. It's amazing how it's just the bare essentials that remain, yet they are present in their entirety. Perfectly lit and executed. |
