Doomed beechby anniekComment: Great color here! I know the roots of the beech is the subject but this photo is almost lacking a focal point. Perhaps a different view point. Maybe getting a little closer and/or possibly using some local editing to brighten up the area of interest would help it pop more. I notice the mushrooms on the right hand side act as a leading line right up to the tree. Possibly getting down low and letting that line lead you right to the tree would be a great angle to shoot at! Superb color textures overall!! |

From Death We Riseby jagarComment: Nice range of tones and great exposure throughout... HDR??? Good movement in the coulds too! The dark shapes of the trees are standing guard along the line of the path leading you through the gates of what I presume to be a cemetary. |

Unwindby wildirisComment: This definitely needs a person to put it over the top. It is well exposed with a good composition. But a person unwinding would have pumped it up yby proviiding a nice pop of color and added interest IMHO. |

Day of the Triffidby tvsometimeComment: Local editing on the foreground (Brightening) has offset it too much from the background and given the lighting an unnatural look and feel. Otherwise great texture and light on the subject. Too dark and grey in the background. |

Rain and Shine on the Bent Tree by MargaretNetComment: Compositionally, this shot leads me right away from the tree due to the leading line of the canal and the fact the tree is in the left third and bending to the left. The bend acts like an arrowhead pointing to the water which leads me to the right edge of the photo. You have great color and exposure and a wide range of light. |
