I agree with you about the sky effect. I considered cropping it out, but that threw out the balance of the picture. |

Roz: Thanks for the comment. I don't know why either, but after we had parked two places down from this, it just called out to be captured! |

On the Up and Upby namComment: I love this genre of photography. I entered something along these lines in an in-person camera club competition shortly after I had joined them about 20 years ago, and the judge's only comment was "I didn't know we included industrial photography"...
Congratulations on 5th place. |

Sunset off Nova Scotia by Bear_MusicComment: ... and earlier that evening on deck, watching the sun "set", I had a conversation with someone where we agreed that the sunset colors are often at their best some time after the sun has sunk below the horizon. I wandered back to our cabin, went out onto the balcony, and saw this start to develop. I called Robert out to the balcony to enjoy it. At least, that's my story and I'm sticking to it!

fading yellowsby tvsometimeComment: I loved this! Something that the average passerby might not think of as beautiful, which is what I was looking for in this challenge. |

Moonrise from Newton Rocksby wildirisComment: Such a wonderful capture, Ingrid. Congratulations, and thank you for posting the exposure details.
I love the silky smoothness of the water over the rocks and the warmth in the foreground which I assume is provided by the last light from the setting sun. |
