I agree with you about the sky effect. I considered cropping it out, but that threw out the balance of the picture.

I love this genre of photography. I entered something along these lines in an in-person camera club competition shortly after I had joined them about 20 years ago, and the judge's only comment was "I didn't know we included industrial photography"...

Sunset off Nova Scotia

... and earlier that evening on deck, watching the sun "set", I had a conversation with someone where we agreed that the sunset colors are often at their best some time after the sun has sunk below the horizon. I wandered back to our cabin, went out onto the balcony, and saw this start to develop. I called Robert out to the balcony to enjoy it. At least, that's my story and I'm sticking to it!

Such a wonderful capture, Ingrid. Congratulations, and thank you for posting the exposure details.

I love the silky smoothness of the water over the rocks and the warmth in the foreground which I assume is provided by the last light from the setting sun.
