Interesting image, and place. I'm guessing these are flower beds in a park. To my eyes this is over sharpened, and it is kind of hard to make out what the purple flowers are (pansies I think). I like the inclusion of the person walking, hands behind his back, taken in England maybe?

Great sense of place (and time of year!) I'm finding the composition a bit too centered for my taste, but I love the back lighting of the grass seeds and most of the poppies.

Lovely tones and an interesting choice of B&W. The only drawback is that is lacks any sense of "place". It could just as easily have been taken indoors as outdoors. ~ I'm not saying that it was taken indoors, just that for this challenge I appreciate and prefer those images that convey the sense of a garden or field more than those that do not.

Lovely capture, great sense of "place". I can feel that I am standing there looking across the field and enjoying the hills and the interesting building in the background, and the splashes of color provided by the poppies. The only drawback, to my eyes, is that the barley is over sharpened, and many of the flowers out of focus. But overall, a fun picture to explore.

Alice, it was a toss up about which jacket to bring and then I thought, of course it has to be the red jacket, hehe! Actually, seeing the weather forecast for Yosemite was a factor too.. The only thing is, I don't particularly "like" being photographed
