Watcher In The Woodby mefnjComment: A genuine troll! Great find. It seems a little dark, but maybe you lost the face otherwise. |

without restraintby bspurgeonComment: Originally posted by markwiley: She is immune to the shadows. I can't quite figure out why I don't seem to see any of the fence's shadows across her leg/dress. Wonderful image. |
Lovely image, Ben. I love the sense of determination /fearlessness that I feel in her stride. Great energy.
Mark, if you look at her shadow, you can figure out that the front part of her foot probably has a shadow falling on it somewhere that we cannot see, the front of her leg, the part we can see, is in the space between two shadows, and there may be a feint shadow on her dress starting just behind her knee and another toward the back. I think the shadows are actually falling away from us in the picture, and thus not at 90 degrees to her, which is why the leg appears to be slanted forward in the image but appears "upright" relative to the shadows. Perhaps you don't see the shadows that are there in part because they are not striking her in the direction you were "expecting" them to be. Just a though! As you can tell, your question "hooked" my analytical side, and I am fascinated by how visual perceptions are affected by our expectations (eg. Escher) |

seconds ? by BrennanOBComment: Great shot. You've got such great lighting and textures here, in that regard, it reminds me of your Fine Arts II, non allegorical image, although this is a softer light, or maybe softer processing. I love that the dog's head is at almost the same height, and is a similar size to yours. The dog clearly has a smaller cranium though!. Congratulations, Brennan! Beast of Love (and me)by PaulComment: Paul, Robert showed me this before, so I'm not voting, but I still laughed out loud on seeing it again. Wonderful shot. Good luck. |

together....by svavaComment: This non traditional pose works well. The bright water in the background is a tad distracting, but overall lovely tones and textures. |

Relaxing with Jacqueby dswannComment: Very stately! Nice tones and color palette. For my taste it is cropped rather too close on the top and right. Alternatively I wonder how it would look cropped even more at the right to lesson the impact of that unbroken expanse of patterned sleeve. |

All Mimsy Were the Borogovesby melodicgraceComment: Interesting mood to this image. Looks like our house with all the books piled up everywhere! A couple of things "jar" for me, the pattern of the jacket seems dissonant against the other more organic shapes and more subtle pattens; and that it looks like one woman's foot is stuck right in the middle of the book the other woman is reading. Nice leading lines.
