| 09/16/2002 04:05:00 PM | The Space Betweenby Mo ElfComment: interesting take on things, while i see where you are trying to go with this, i still don't really agree with you that it's negative space, sorry. nice and fluffy shot. -- gr8photos. |
| 09/10/2002 07:46:00 AM | Cherry Pieby drewmediaComment: interesting twist on things. theres' a little light reflection on the arm and the underpants, but other than that, good composition ond coloring. -- gr8photos (5) | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 09/10/2002 07:44:00 AM | Undressingby HillWalkComment: all in all the photo looks a little dark for me, and i'm wondering why you chose the background that you did. it distracts me a little from the apple. interesting title. -- gr8photos. |
| 09/10/2002 07:59:00 AM | The Big Apple: We will never forget!by chakkobboComment: i usually don't like the play on my emotions of incorporating 9/11 in photos, but you have done a very good job with it, and it fits right into the challenge. very creative. the only thing that i would suggest doing differently is excluding the reflection (which i know you put in deliberately) and having lots of negative space ... i know it's next week's challenge, but i think that would've worked well here. did you try this as a landscape format with negative space? -- gr8photos (7). |
| 09/12/2002 02:36:00 PM | Early Traffic Lightby MarkRobComment: very cool idea, and nicely done with the lighting. i can see what you used to hold up the peppers, would be nice if you could've disguised that a little more. lastly, would the image look good turned by 90 degrees to more resemble a traffic light or would the reflection be distracting? not sure. good photo nonetheless. -- gr8photos (7) | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 09/15/2002 10:25:00 PM | --- shades of William Tell.by npageComment: very cool idea. i like the red of the apple against the green background, and how you can see where the arrow tip exited the apple. the shadow is great, too. the only suggestion i'd have for a possible change is to have a single-colored background (i have a thing for them, i have to admit), rather than half green, half black. -- gr8photos (7) |
| 09/09/2002 02:58:00 PM | Frostbiteby freetimeComment: yep, definitely. i have plenty of that in my freezer, too. the photo itself is a little cluttered in the background, maybe if you had zoomed in more on the board with the vegetables and the bag to eliminate some of the other 'stuff' would've been nicer in my opinion. -- gr8photos. |
| 09/09/2002 02:15:00 PM | monkey foodby Ricky CleaveComment: this looks way too dark on my monitor. i can make it out, but i have to try hard. i just tried to lighten it in an editing program and like the shot better that way. i wonder whether you did this on purpose or its one of those 'different calibration' issues. -- gr8photos. |
| 09/10/2002 07:49:00 AM | The Lone Cornstalkby iggy386Comment: it is a little lonely, isn't it, especially with the dried plants around it. i think you have a really good idea here, i was in minnesota last week and just didn't get the time to take a photo of corn in a field, but i thought about it. you have a nice fence in the background, and i wonder what your photo would look like if you zoomed in and focused on the corn itself and that way eliminated some of the background that doesn't need to be there. just a thought. -- gr8photos. |
| 09/09/2002 11:07:00 AM | Freckled Chiquitaby discomushroom11Comment: good idea here, but on my monitor this looks out of focus all the way through. i'm wondering whether that's deliberate for some reason that i don't get (i'd like to see something in focus, my eyes keep searching around), or whether maybe you got too close for your camera to be able to focus ... happens to me a lot with mine, because it indicates that it has focused even if it hasn't. -- gr8photos |
