Blendedby DeniseBernadetteComment: Interesting textures and colors. Chocolate, icing and ? At least that's what it looks like to me :) I like the colors and the patterns. Would prefer to see some more focus in the lower left corner and maybe more texture in the upper right, it's rather bland compared to the rest and makes the image feel a little unbalanced to me.
I know your frame is very think but since your image doesn't contain true bright white I find it a little distracting, it also looks wider on the right and bottom then at the left and top. Did you use an even number of pixels when you expanded the canvas? |

gato.jpgby magueroComment: Excellent shot. Lovely colors and lines add interested and clearly lift it above the "just another catshot" level. Well done! :) |

In the Pinkby gerdagriceComment: Even though clearly recognizable as an office building (or other high-rise) I think this is still an abstract. Nicely seen. I like that you photographed a corner of the building so that the lines aren't all straight, and the contrast between the reflective windows and the other ones (I'm assuming that's what makes them so different). I do see some artifacts here, maybe saving at a slightly higher quality setting (to use the full 150k that you are allowed) would take care of that. |

Snuggledby nards656Comment: I think this qualifies as an abstract, although your title sorta gives it away, and from the thumbnail it is clearer what I'm looking at, too. I like the colors, and the graininess, but it seems a bit oversaturated or the light was harsh. I'd like to see some more tonal variation in some of the blue areas that are currently a bit monochromatic. Still nice though. |

Deep Insideby permapierComment: Definitely abstract. Interesting juxtaposition to have the square and symmetrical crop yet the center part of the image is not quite aligned. Still deciding if I like that or not. May have to come back to look a few more times. |

Spotted Smileby cornettcagComment: Not sure if I would classify this as abstract, since I found it easy to recognize the bananas. Interesting closeup thought, I like the play of light and shadow, but I have to admit not to be very attracted to the subject matter (I like my bananas almost greenn :) |

Cool Pinkby o2bskatingComment: Hm. Abstract - absolutely. I have to confess this doesn't do much for me though. I think it's primarily because it looks that you achieved the abstract nature more through post-processing than anything else ... if I saw this in a gallery I would probably not categorize this as photography. I know abstracts are even more than other challenges about taste, so this is just my opinion of course. |

Orbitby CutterComment: Oh yes, this is just beautiful. I haven't gotten that far yet in voting, but I think you are going to do well with this one. It's truly abstract (to me at least, I have no idea what I'm looking at). Lots of texture and color, yet I can project something that I recognize into the image. Congrats on a wonderful shot! |

Space Invadersby hotpastaComment: Great title. Cheese grater? I like the background lighting a lot, and also that the lighting on the grater is not even. I wish the grater was a little more shiny, but for that you would've had a brand-spanking new one I guess ;) |

<{=[-¤-]=}>by myceliumComment: Very nice colors and textures and shapes. I have absolutely no clue what I'm looking at ... for once that's a plus in a DPC challenge :) Only thing I find slightly distracting is the OOF lower left corner. Wonder if a different crop would've improved that, or if you would've been able to take the shot with greater DOF. |
