It's a very nice photo, and I like it a lot. But it doesn't seem abstract at all to me, and there's very little motion. I hate marking it down, because I do like it, but it doesn't seem to fit the challenge.

Ooops, forgot to check back on this one.

Definately don't do a white mat. It would be jarring with such a soft, dark picture. I'd be tempted to do a black mat and black frame.

You could try a very thin inner mat with one of the sunset colors, a black outer and black frame, but I think that or anything else would draw attention to the framing--this picture should stand on its own.
