I can also vouch for the fact that you were sitting on the bank right in front of it, and I was composing the letter to your husband about how you were eaten by a gator. It's recorded at 226mm -- and definitely cropped in. It was handheld -- a little soft in places, so some extra sharpening applied.

The lens is extremely difficult to handhold at 600mm, but I'm getting a little more used to it, and I've had some successful handheld shots at that distance. I'm trying to use a tripod or a monopod with it, if possible.
