Good take on a marina setting -- most of the ones I see are way more crowded and haphazard-looking. This one has nice clean lines.

Drawbridge

The second reason I liked the image was the challenge of taking it -- this was taken from a moving train, and is rather the counterpoint to a panning shot. In this case the camera is moving, and there's one and only one instant at which to capture this particular view/composition; one which is not available to the pedestrian photographer.

To get an almost-perfect composition (only a tiny bit of cropping needed) and a sufficient level of detail was under those conditions was, to me, a pretty good accomplishment. I knew well that none of this would be apparent to the voters or be factored into the score, but you asked ...

I like the occasional "inside" humor we get -- I might have even scored this one higher since it appeals to might sense of artistic justice. :-)

I don't think it needs to be any sharper -- this degree of softness suits the mood and composition just fine.

Maybe you'll consider adding it the the Blur Gallery as well as the B&W. ;-)

I went back to look again, and I notice that the topologically the mirror frames and the vertical crack form a peace sign ... :-)

With the curving limbs, there's also a suggestion of the Yin/Yang symbol.

You get the sense that this guy has "personality" -- I'm not sure exactly what type, but some type for sure. Nice color and lighting. I like the title too ... :-)
