Nice getting good focus on both the cars in front and those in the mirror. This was my interpretation of the subject, an entry from some time back ...

You go to take a snapshot and end up with a portrait ... seriously, I think the only difference between this a nearly perfect portrait is the baby looking off to the side.

With the blotchiness and the bug crawling on it, this looks more like it's starting to decay than just opening up ... very interesting.

Yes, the processing suits the subject well.

Did you use a tripod and timer, or someone else's hands? I'm always having to figure out ways to accomplish shots when I'm also the model.

Seems uglier than it really is, maybe because, as a larval form, it retains more segmentation than in the adult.

Image still seems a little flat -- I think I'd try blowing out the BG altogether, somewhat as if it was a mounted specimen, and then increasing the contrast a bit on the body.

Would be excellent for textbook-type use. :-)
