The Chapelby vawendyComment: Beautiful location, good tiing to get the focused light ... for me it has a somewhat unfortunate association with an old song by Tom Paxton* which, being satire, doesn't quite match the mood of the picture.
*"Forest Lawn" ... about the celebrated cemetery. |

Night Flight by CoryComment: I try to avoid flying now, but when I do I try to take a lot of pictures, though almost always in the daytime. If I fly at night I'm sure going to try this. Did you have the lens against the glass to keep it so steady for the long exposure? |

Standing Guardby KMcCComment: Congratulations on a great finish! I really like how the branches and the added vignette work together to frame the bird and the reflection.
Based on reading the earlier comments you might want to check out one of our on-site (member-written) tutorials, Sharpening Halos and How to Hide Them. |

Ectoplasmby lunachickenComment: If the rules allowed it something like this would have been good for the current Abstract Motion challenge -- great swirling effect and colors. |

Nine Blocksby PaulComment: A fine example of the diversity all around us ... I like the variety of perspectives and the square crop works well.
On a second third look I would probably have switched positions between the top corner photos in the composite, so that the main characters would be looking "in" rather than out, although I know that's just the "standard" approach ... Message edited by author 2014-03-02 10:55:05. |

1by sfaliceComment: A charming look at a bit of "small town America" not 20 miles from downtown San Francisco.
Sometime around 1970 my dad and I took a class at SF State where we excavated a former Native American habitation site on one of the nearby ranches ... on the very last day we found a burial site.
Someplace I have a topographic map I made after we learned how to survey the site ... |
