Fire And Iceby Firstrich1Comment: I like the way your fingers make the ice into a heart-shaped outline. I don't think I like the figures in the ice, but it's hard to tell with seeing the alternative. |

Friedby PedroComment: Sunny-side up seems to be the order of the day. You'd probably have to use a ton of grease to keep them from sticking. Good control over DOF, but I wish the cameras weren't quite so rapid in the degree of OOF in the foreground; more as it occurs in the background. Might not be optically possible though .... |

'Nuff Saidby alanfreedComment: I suppose putting a non-stick coating on a road surface wouldn't be quite practical. Good thing you like them "sunny-side up." Around here, a sidewalk is the preferred frying utensil, but the blacktop will reach a higher temperature. I think you could maybe crop out most of the cars without losing impact. |

Hot Hot Hot by rickhd13Comment: I assume you will post a tutorial on how you set up this shot. I think some people may be spending too much on these contests. |

Hot Summer Nightby arnitComment: Hard to tell for sure what the air temperature is, but an outstanding sunset photo regardless. |

baby herons 06421_filtered.jpgby SwashbucklerComment: Great image. I'd play with the border, but I think it does have a beneficial effect of make your midtoned, grayish subjects "pop" out of the picture--rather the opposite of what people usually try and do with their typically brighter photos. You could use plain white to the same effect, but I don't usually like white borders that much myself. |
