I can't really think of any improvement on this; maybe I'd play with giving the background a blue or golden cast instead of the pretty pure black it seems to be now.

OK, MAYBE run the blur or burn tool along the top-left wing edge where you seem to have a tough of haloing. Otherwise looks great!

I plan to steal this idea (not for DPC though!) and probably with a different technique, although I may try to follow your's 'cause I've never tried it like that. Great idea, execution!

Thanks ... it was truly an experiment in trying something new, but just didn't work out that well in the time (and with the equipment) I had available.

I almost titled it "Nessie?" but I decided to not try and be cute and just describe what I did.

And if I need a nice pastel abstract I know just how to do it!
