Now if you'd have centered it -- OK with a square crop in my book -- and added a little judicious cloning, you'd pretty much have a model of an organic blue ribbon, especially in thumbnail view.

I once tried a similar technique, but with considerable less effect. Clever idea and execution, and a bonus for including the physical sciences along with life sciences. : )

Interesting idea, though to me it looks more like an audio waveform than an EKG tracing. This is one occasion when the asymmetrical border has an effective purpose.

I seem to remember reading that "Big Ben" actually refers to the largest bell in the clock tower, not to the clock itself, though yours is the common usage.
