Unusual perspective and high-key treatment work to make this more interesting.

That looks like one wacky event -- I hope it was suitable for kids in the audience.

Stupendous moving capture -- I do a lot of shooting from the car, and this is about as good as it gets.

Yup -- I think the wacky White Balance/colors really add to the overall look.

A nice example of a "calm" sunset, instead of the more common dramatic variety featuring broken or turbulent clouds.

The colors and setting reminded me of a sunrise shot I took (on film) 16 years and a half a world away ...

Big bold color patches give it a great painterly look (Van Gogh, Gaugin?) -- this might have fared better in the Impressionism challenge, where I suspect people were more tolerant of blur.

Personally, I think I'd mask off and darken the background showing on the left side, especially the sky area, as it really tends to pull the eye towards the upper-left corner, in the opposite direction of your subject's motion. I think making it darker would reduce the effect.

Now I have to check and see if I don't have some blurry pictures of my kid on a slide ... ;-)

Nice work.

Yeah, I've actually done that a bit compared to my first version, though I decided to leave the sky; I'll see if I can move the margin where the blur begins to just above the first building.

It seems pretty effective to me. I've only tried this once in the past, but now this shot makes me wonder if this would work with some aerial photos I took last month.

Very dynamic cloudscape -- I'd expect the plane to be bouncing around a lot.
