From the pattern, it looks like the center of a composite flower.

Warm colors and bold "strokes" give it quite a painterly look to me -- maybe a take on "Sunflowers"?

I like the strong diagonals in the composition. I'd like to compare with a version where the eyes are not quite so super-sharp -- it makes it look a bit artificial when it's really a completely natural capture.

PS: The eyes look good in the thumbnail -- I think I was a little surprised at the difference between the small and large versions.

interesting use of technology old & new!

I was actually trying to make something which would work as a neutral-density filter. I figured I could focus the camera on the distant subject, and that the dots/lines in the filter would be so OOF that they'd disappear -- there's been a recent discussion of this effect in a thread about shooting animals through cage bars. Obviously, it only partially works.

I work in the printing industry, where I'm used to turning images into halftone screens -- clear film with a pattern of dots which simulates the original photograph.

I have some pieces of film with different types of densities and patterns -- I'll have to see what effects they can produce.

As mentioned, a great Hallowe'en shot, though I'd probably shift the color of the eyes to a more pronounced orangy-red (though it should be noted that those are colors I don't see well!).

I'd like to see it with the green background darkened up considerable, letting the ladies in the center "glow" and be the focus of attention -- right now the brightness of the background tends to draw my eye away from them.

That would probably be my reaction, though hopefuly not that of someone experienced enough to enter waters like those.

Excellent photojournalism -- I especially like the contrast between the people running away and the solitary figure (kid?) standing and watching.

If this was my photo, I have to admit I'd be sorely tempted to add a question mark to the sign on the truck. : )

Reminds me of an old Broomhilda (the witch) comic strip ... I like the repeating B&W patterns.

Nicely created plane, and the capture during flight works. The dof and bg don't add to this shot, just leave it as ordinary.

That's why I wanted to use this version where I highly-accentuated the motion blur, but I was informed that it was "too much" ...

Nice piece of portraiture -- I like how you used the fur as background.
