Lighting makes this seem sterile. For how the model is presented, I think moodier lighting (more shadows surrounding her, less light) would have made this more alluring. Just one opinion of course.
Pose is fine, like the eye contact. Perhaps consider the framing a bit more as to not have the wood flooring show.

To be honest, the picture itself doesn't do a lot to wow me, but have to give you props for creative use of the color paper and how it reflects on the scissors.

Haunting. Having grown up in the 80's, first thing that this reminded me of was images of the Iran hostages. [Not trying to be political, just noting how strong this image is...(at least for me).]
