Aahh, this is what I'm more accustomed to as the Iraklis style. I like this high contrast photo with the play of light and shadows and the lines and curves. However, I did enjoy your "glen" images though.

Opening the Season...Another Loss

Spent a bit of time trying to figure out what I like and didn't like about this photo. It immediately drew me into it as "back to school", the first game of the season. I like that the players on the field are "highlighted" and the rest of the scene fades to the background. At first I didn't like that the players were such a small part of the photo, but the more time I'm looking at it, the more I like the "scale" because this is what I imagine what I would see from the far sideline. With that said, I think you may get dinged by the DPC crowd for the square crop, the negative space above the players, the images being dark, and on the technicals. For me the subject overcomes these critiques. Good luck on the challenge.

morning frenzy

10. This is the quintessential "going back to school" shot; school buses, kids scampering off to class. I like the motion blur for that "frenzied" hurried feel. The fresh rain was a plus for you in adding some decent reflection. Personally, I like the tilt for lining up the buses on the top of the frame. Nice composition. With that said, you must know how fickle the DPC crowd can be, so I'm thinking some voters may not like the tilt and may not like the blur. I'm hoping for this to ribbon, my favorite of this challenge.

I really liked this, especially since I'm into a farmer's market vegetable and flower pic phase (from the P&S SC). Its got great lines of the leaf veins and great color to it. I thought it would've made it into the 5's at least. I don't understand the 1's and 2's and even 3's. Maybe a touch over sharpened? or too bright on the white part of the leaf? for the critical DPCer...
