Grand Riverby SiouxComment: I like the "tease" of this main street. By tease, I mean it seems to be a real interesting main street with the neon "Civic" (theater?) sign and the other lights, and the cobble stone sidewalk on the left portion of the shot and the lighted tree lined street, but it's just a little bit too dark thus lack of details. I think this would have been a stronger image if this was taken within the hour after sunset (the blue hour) where you could have captured a bit more detail. This has potential... Just MHO. |

Rue Principaleby OmanOtterComment: Pretty cool main street. About as rural as one can get; something I'm not use to. Great framing with the huge trees. |

The making of MAIN STREETby drphotos-dmComment: Out of the box, interesting take on the challenge :) Best of luck on the voting. (I'd like to see a pic after you're done with the layout.) |

Caroline Street by The EskimoComment: I like the general feel of this photo. It has a nice small town feel. The facades of the buildings have character for a main street, along with the lamp posts and the brick walkway. However, the large tree in the right third is a bit "distracting." I wonder if a different position (perhaps near the closest lamp post or near the big tree) would have captured the essence of this street without the distraction of the tree... Just a thought. But then again, perhaps the large tree is part of the character of this main street... There's actually a lot to see and wonder about as a viewer. Great street to capture. |

Father of the Brideby MartyComment: This is pretty funny. I don't know what else to say, but it made me laugh.
To add, this is totally different than the rest in this challenge. Gotta fav it for a future laugh :) |

Wonderby APComment: Timing was right on in this street scene. I'm drawn to look at the various people in the entire scene. I like the bright gold of the sax of the street performer and the rainbow colors of the lady's tote bag; it keeps the focus on them. The layer of snow says a lot about how long the performer may have been at it. Like the capture of the lady's motion (blur of the money, her leg in motion) that she is passing by but "compelled" to give a donation. A statement with the rest of the people who are "in their own little worlds." An image to reflect on. |
