Interesting choice of going with the purple tones. IMHO, I think if you had gone with a sepia treatment, it may work with the grain for an antique look. Anyways, this popped out for me cuz the guy looks like a modern day Billy the Kid [in New Orleans with the beads :) ] Good luck with the voting.

This is a great street portrait. Like how you positioned him on the stoop. Quite an interesting character study. Looks like he had a hard life; with the bags under his eyes, lines on his face; tats on his arms, maybe scars on his right shoulder. If you posed him (or just asked him to sit), his shoulders drooped over also gives an impression of a hard life. I also like your processing, as the blues look toned down a touch, giving the entire image a "depressed" tone (if that makes sense.) Outstanding street portrait.

Lots of character in this subject. I can make out the mast of the boat in the background, but I think just a bit more DOF to give context to the subject would have made this a stronger street portrait. Just MHO.
