Good elements and the positioning is ok but you might try a different background. And It feels a bit dark to me, overall. Needs punch!!!

Candied (naturally sweet or sweetened slightly) root vegetables are amongst my favorites. Here, I like the orange color and for a food photograph I might have concentrated on that alone as I don’t think the yellow adds much. But it still looks good.

Your salmon recipe sounds delish! I do think the photo could be improved with a different plate (background)and better lighting. Another option would be a closer crop.
