Invitation To A Suicideby GotchyaComment: Moving and well taken. Framing around the photo seems a little excessive. Coloration - doesn't do anything for me. On a less serious note: unless you're planning on landing on a boat, I think you need more altitude to ensure it's more than just an attempt at suicide. 6 Swash |

Beauty in Iceby lorazepamComment: Oh man, this is so far over my head I have NO idea what you were going for in the Dispair catagory. It's a kinda neat shot of the ice, but ..... 4 Swash |

My newspaperby Crafty SueComment: Ehhhh, please turn off the date/time stamp, it's distracting and doesn't help the image. As for the challenge, no, not much there to the average person. The paper boy shouldn't get a tip this Christmas, but otherwise ....... 4 Swash |

Oh Despair what am I to doby RyboflavinComment: Title - first question - What am I and what am I doing? I see a part of a thumb, but the rest is indistinguishable. I'll try to remember to read the description after the challenge, provided there is one. 3 Swash |

How could THIS BEAR Despair ?by Wraith RavenscroftComment: Well, as his arms don't really move, I say he was lynched rather than suicide! Someone even faked his suicide note! Seriously, good focus and color. Background is a touch busy, you might want to consider changing your lighting sceme. Challenge met, by a bear's nose! 5 Swash |

The Ice Bladeby camelotnorthComment: Betty - I gave this photo an 8. I honestly thought it was Kendall's work as he's in construction and in snowy territory, but that didn't affect the score I gave. The focus and color are impeccable! I love gradiated blue skies! A small nit - the subject, per the title, is not yellow, but is attached to a very yellow vehicle. The cropping seems a little tightly forced, but the subject is well displayed. ChrisW and sparky gave decent comments, interest isn't univerally high (totally hard thing to do!!) On the other hand, wishing the snow was cleaner fits into the catagory I call "Moon and Sky" - i.e. if I had a perfect world, this would be "do-able". |

Night Witchhazelby SwashbucklerComment: O.K. if anybody would care to be honest or mean or "pick your descriptor" and tell me. What is really really bad about this photo?
No distracting background; it meets the challenge; focus isn't horrible; lighting isn't great, but it's not horrible; it's a flower, but not a boring, uninteresting one - pick another issue.

Rising Sunby jmsetzlerComment: Cool and bizarre, you gotta like that! Color seems very good, as does the focus. Nice blank background. Lighting - it's your choice, but I'm not certain about the finger shadows (i'm not going to "ding" you for it, I really don't know!) 8 Swash |

Yellow in Nature's Abstractby MustbelostComment: Neat flower shot. (Impossible request - could you clean up the excess pollen?) Striking color! Stamen seem in good focus as well as the throat, very difficult and well done! 9 Swash |
