Diet Drink???by kosmikkreeperComment: Cute idea. I like the lips and the red vine and most of the background, but I get the feeling that the upper left is "blown out". It shouldn't matter, but grabs my attention, so that can't be good. Still, it's an appealing shot overall. 8 Rob the Swash |

A hint of mint by marboComment: Darn cools shot! Nice use of white on white! Clearity is very good. Nice arrangement. In fact, this impresses me to the extent of raising it's score from 8 to 9. Rob the Swash |

Try to lick the candy thinnest without breaking.by kenboComment: Very clear, nicely colorful photo. I like the two hearts, as you can see through them to the bowl underneath. The orange seems out of place...how would you measure it for the contest, off your tongue? 8 Rob the Swash |

Big Candyby nitro102Comment: Nice clear photo. (Everett area?) Good color, lighting isn't perfect (smidge dark in the corner), but this looks to be in a store, so what's ya gonna do? 8 Rob the Swash |

Candy is Dandy, but Liquor is Quickerby ArtifactsComment: Mmmm, liquor! I really like the image created here. Color and focus are very good. I like your elements, nicely photographic. The mood is fun, playful. Tiny nit: the fold in the background shows up (tisk, tisk). I've convinced myself I like this better than the 8 that I started with. How about 9? Rob the Swash |

Sour Spaghetti Candiesby Pep VentosaComment: Interesting abstract piece. I do like looking through the transparent parts of the worms and their overlapping areas. Tiny nit: the extra sugar grains...maybe a tiny vacuum cleaner....? Focus, color and lighting all seem very good. I want to score this really highly, but the best I can go is an 8. Rob the Swash |

KitKatby severinComment: This is a very cool shot! The cat is perfect!! The falling M&Ms would be very hard to pull off...you stopped their motion very well. The yellow pieces seem a bit too bright (almost glaring). The lower background seems a bit grainy, too. For the most part I really love this shot and want to score it really highly. I started this as an 8, I still think that's the correct score. 8 Rob the Swash |

Peppermint Extravaganzaby JeanComment: It's an interesting idea to color the white peppermints. I'm afraid I just don't like the detail of how this was done. The red is too dark (makes the candy look out of focus - out of the picture). The green is sloppy as the overlap is up front and hard to miss/dismiss. I do like how the colored transparencies change the colors of the background paper, but the cylinders are so close, you can't tell what the farther colors started out as. Please don't misunderstand, these critisizms are pretty much nits. The photo is well taken, good focus and lighting (very little glare), but the nits add up to less than a perfect shot. 8 Rob the Swash |

Mmmmmmmmmmmmm.....messyby boyte1Comment: I like the idea of showing both the wrapped candy and the unwrapped, open version, but the gooy part did run out into the wrapper (wasting tasty treats!) The partial chocolate bunny used to hold up the wrapped egg leaves me wondering "what happened to the rest of the bunny? 8 Rob the Swash |

Have a biteby EJComment: Very clear photo. (Maybe too clear) The bite marks add a touch of realizm as do the smudges along the edges of the candy bar, but I\'m not crazy about the smudges (no idea how to aviod that!). The crinkled wrapper also adds to the realizm, as does the chocolate scraps on the plate, leave the wrapper, clean up the flakes. 8 Rob the Swash
(I realize these are pretty petty, nit-picky complaints, that's why I didn't lower your score down hard) |
