It took me three separate viewings to "get" this shot. It's wonderful, if a bit subtle. As a "shot of opportunity", this is extremely good. It wasn't until I tried to figure out what the flash reflection was, that I spotted the bumble bee. Originally gave you a 7, it's a clear shot, etc. etc., but the bee's shadow is the "bee's knees". I had considered this, in natural light, but didn't like the definition I was getting. I can see his shadowy legs! VERY, VERY good. I don't get the orange strip on the right side, and it really grabs my attention away from the subject. This appears to be from a fairly high end camera, so you might have some extra resolution to play with. Did you try cropping down to about the middle 1/3? Just a thought....

I hope you were going for an interpretation of the challenge, I think. I can appreciate that, but this is still pushing my flexability a bit too far. The double image could be said to be "a shadow of herself", but the challenge intent was around lighting, not philosophy. See the back of the ladies arm? Wonderful concept, we bleed the same color, too. I usually I like extra "stuff" in the frame that can "add interest", but in this case, I don't think the garden behind the hands work all that well. Photo 9 Creativity 7 Shadows 8 total 8

Beautiful scenic shot. You must have a very nice camera! Most digi's don't do scenery this nicely, the trees on the horizon have details!!!! Nice.

Something's Creepy in the Shadows

Kinda creepy effect (I hope you were going for that!) I will bet you are getting shadow distintion comments, same as me. Try moving your light source farther away, it tends to sharpen the shadow edges. (I ran out of extension cord) I would also suggest cropping out the plants in the foreground and if possible, a less harsh light, see how the middle of the light washes out everything? Also a bit grainy.
