This image has caused me to stop and pay attention. That means it is in my 7-10 voting band. (Voted earlier)
Additionally, it is highly interesting/eclectic meaning it keeps me here long enough to offer a longer comment and a vote of 8 or more.
This is one of my 10s - I like it very much. Furthermore I think it enriches the DPC collective portfolio. Put simply, I wish we saw more stuff like this. Let me tell you why it pushes all the right buttons for me:
1. This is an astonishing image - like a movie scene. Such intensity.
2. I've been watching '24' from the beginning (it's new to me) and have noticed the shooting through the scenery camera shots - that covert feeling is captured here too.
3. Nailed focus and exposure - I'm guessing you didn't have too long to compose either.
4. Fabulous and well-balanced composition - what an angle you have.
5. Super tones - perfect choice for this image.
Outstanding photograph. I'm looking forward to finding out who shot this. |

This is one of my 8s - I like it. Furthermore I think it enriches the DPC collective portfolio. Put simply, I wish we saw more stuff like this. Let me tell you why it pushes all the right buttons for me:
1. I love the 'aha' moment the mirror offers and thus the humanity that is levered into the scene.
2. I admire the prominence of the expanse of sky.
3. I love that overhang at the top.
4. The slightly flat tones serve your composition perfectly.
5. The wide-angle induced 'dutch angle' is highly effective.
Eclectic and bold. I like it a lot. |

1. Excellent leading lines adds a lot of depth.
2. The geometric elements give the shot a graphic art feel - I like that.
3. I like the unposed pose.
4. Great tones.
5. Excellent rendition of a tricky high contrast scene.
Very nice work. |

2. Such delicacy in the pelicans
3. Sharp where it needs to be
4. Well controlled exposure

Distinguished by its precise construction. Very well made. |

1. Not my usual cup of tea but this is so well constructed, it got me to stop and look.
2. Nailed focus - crucial in a shot like this.
4. A complete lack of motion unsharpness too - again, crucial.
5. Great colours counterpointing the largely monochromatic water.
6. Killer reflection.
A technical tour de force. |

This is one of my 9s - I like it very much. Furthermore I think it enriches the DPC collective portfolio. Put simply, I wish we saw more stuff like this. Let me tell you why it pushes all the right buttons for me:
1. I love the low contrast look of this - I'm never brave enough to do it.
2. I love the compositional contrast between the pristine model and the murky background.
3. I'm fascinated by how calm, comfortable and serene she looks despite her precarious perch.
4. I like the overall oddness of the scene.
Lovely stuff. |
