Pond Skimmerby bobnospumComment: This image has caused me to stop and pay attention. That means it is in my 7-10 voting band. (Voted earlier)
Additionally, it is highly interesting/eclectic meaning it keeps me here long enough to offer a longer comment and a vote of 8 or more.
This is one of my 8s - I like it. Furthermore I think it enriches the DPC collective portfolio. Put simply, I wish we saw more stuff like this. Let me tell you why it pushes all the right buttons for me:
1. Not my usual cup of tea but this is so well constructed, it got me to stop and look.
2. Nailed focus - crucial in a shot like this.
4. A complete lack of motion unsharpness too - again, crucial.
5. Great colours counterpointing the largely monochromatic water.
6. Killer reflection.
A technical tour de force. |

This is one of my 9s - I like it very much. Furthermore I think it enriches the DPC collective portfolio. Put simply, I wish we saw more stuff like this. Let me tell you why it pushes all the right buttons for me:
1. I love the low contrast look of this - I'm never brave enough to do it.
2. I love the compositional contrast between the pristine model and the murky background.
3. I'm fascinated by how calm, comfortable and serene she looks despite her precarious perch.
4. I like the overall oddness of the scene.
Lovely stuff. |

1. Perhaps over-crisp for some but I really enjoy this high-structure look.
2. Superb composition
3. The applied vignette matches the scene well
4. The cyclist adds a vital splash of dynamism.
5. Great tones.
A very enjoyable image. |

This is one of my 10s - I like it very much. Furthermore I think it enriches the DPC collective portfolio. Put simply, I wish we saw more stuff like this. Let me tell you why it pushes all the right buttons for me:
1. Tonally and given the glow (and stonework), this looks like one of John's
2. A very evocative image that brings mixed emotions
3. I think the image makes a connection - this is most acutely felt through the capture of her arthritic, oedematous hands
Overall it's a bold, slightly in-you-face image that communicates humanity well. |

Outdoor Portrait Shootingby instepsComment: I love how you've arranged them and how the sequence of the extend moment is shared. The set has an honest impact that carries much gravitas |

1-San-Franciscoby sfaliceComment: When I saw this title slide I thought I wouldn't like your bold and large border. As I moved through the images I found I was wrong - it works well.
The whole set is very coherent and hangs together nicely, I particularly like the ones with swathes of black with high contrast and some glow.
The selective desaturation is more problematic for me - on some images it works really well, on others not at all well - I'm not sure why.
Overall though, a fine and interesting job. |

Phonebox by PaulComment: Originally posted by tome: Fantastic, an image made to win. In its own concept, it's almost too perfect, everything is perfectly cut, nothing out of place. I almost want to find a flaw. But I'm repeatedly drawn to that path in the distance, reminding me of DaVinci. Fabulous, congrats on the double blue! |
Goodness. Thank you! |
