Pretty Yellow Flowersby TCGuruComment: Perfect, perfect, perfect!!
I think this would look rather lovely in monochrome too.
You should consider uploading it to 1x.com too - this deserves to be showcased as widely as possible!! |

Pink.JPGby sonniejakeComment: Again, really nice flowers and the lighting is much better. The DOF is a bit too large to truly isolate your subject from the background and a wider aperture would have helped- I see you sot this at f/13; something like f/5.6 would have given you a better result.
Compositionally, I not sure you've cropped it in the right places, clipping the edges of the petals that way but I think your approach to framing the image this way with an extreme portrait crop is definitely the way to go.
Once again your excellent eye has found a really good picture and five more minutes of editing would bring your original alive. |

Flower 2.JPGby sonniejakeComment: This is a really nice flower but the image is way too flat. I just had a go at messing with it a little and it really rewards a bit of aggressive editing. I'd also clone out the white area top left.
Because of your good eye for a picture, there is bags of potential in this image but at the moment it goes untapped. |

Azaleasby KelliComment: I'm not a fan of borders, but I like the way this one complements your image. |

Cathedral of Learningby PaulComment: I submitted this on 1x.com where it was rejected and subsequently critiqued; I agreed with all of the comments. In the final analysis, the effect probably isn't best suited to the subject. However, I do still like it but I think my recent attempts at Lensbaby flowers are better aligned with the affordances of the lens.
Thanks for your comment and interest.

MFSC #3 - Irisby DeniseComment: Lovely crisp focus, vibrant colours and emerges wonderfully from the dark background.
Great stuff! |
