Gazeby aprudhommeComment: I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.
Positives: My, what a compellingly subtle portrait - there is something about the slight 'miss' of focus that grabs you in a way a super-sharp image could not. I love the coloration too.
Critical stuff: Nothing at all.
Overall: Beyond a simple 'capture-the-face' portrait. Excellent. |

Street Photographyby MelethiaComment: Congrats on your juried blue Deb!! I was already familiar with this shot at 1x - I love the way it 'looks' set-up, I love the colour palette too!
Well done. |

Positives: If I were going to guess I would say this was a zeuszen with an outside chance of clive_patric_nolan. The coloration, the grain and vignette all conspire to offer a crafted feel. For me, the appearance of the pointing figure shape is second level element.
Critical stuff: I think this surfs the boundary between well seen and (dare I say) a little contrived - however, I can see that all images are in a way contrived.
Overall: Pretty nice - not one of my favourites from this type of work but still quite convincing. |

Moose Meadowsby PANComment: A nice panoramic but these really don't make too much sense to offer up within the DPC image size limits. |

Rocket Shipby freakin_hilariousComment: I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.
Positives: Well this is certainly unconventional and the little snow rocket ship is pretty well crafted! The colour palette works quite well too.
Critical stuff: I've been looking at this image for a while and I don't see it's value as a photograph - I can see the value in the snow rocket ship, why shoot it, why share it - I'm not convinced that the photo as an artefact in its own right has a purpose beyond showcasing the rocket ship.
Overall: I'm left a little puzzled - have I missed something...? |
