Perfect Dayby Tlee05Comment: I had initially scored this an 8 but I have returned - it is better than that; such a story to be told here and the compositional elements are matched so well by your lighting and processing. Bumped to a 10. Special. |

wordby EstimatedEyesComment: One of my 10s. The composition here is best in show; the book, the shadow, the lines, the water - all hang together beautifully. |

3:00 a.m.by kolasiComment: One of my 10s - bizarre juxtaposition is always interesting. This one works really well. Great confidence in allowing the highlights to blow so thoroughly. |

New Horizons by salmiakkiComment: One of my 10s - I love the purity / economy of the coloration and the two way blur confounds my brain - I'm inclined to guess rinac. |

If you say 'smile' one more time...by smurfguyComment: I didn't hand out a Mu award in January but if I had it would have gone to this image. Instead I'd like to retrospectively offer you the first WALL? award for this marvellous image:

west texas twilight...by asimchoudhriComment: I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.
Positives: Such unusual coloration and lighting - it makes me wonder what is causing the light spill from the right. Speaking as someone who lives in an English city, this landscape looks very alien to me and so I like the way you have offered up part of your world. The blue gradation in the sky is tremendous - very pretty indeed.
Critical stuff: There is a line running diagonally in the bottom right of the frame - it doesn't really have any compositional value and is a little distracting - I think I would've cloned it away.
Overall: An interesting image to me - though I'm not sure how widely that view might be shared. |

rocks chairsby posthumousComment: I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.
Positives: An interesting ghostly image for sure and although the figure and chairs are interesting enough, I am transfixed by the reflection - the clarity of the branches of the trees is wonderful and this serves as an excellent anchor for the image - a starting place for the eye to wander from. I really like the lens distortion too and the way it offers up diverging verticals.
Critical stuff: Perhaps a slightly shorter exposure time and a more intact figure might have improved the image but I suspect it would just look different rather than better.
Overall: An interesting image that I am pleased to have been able to view. |

A Mothers Journeyby kaelellComment: I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.
Positives: What a moment you have captured here. I feel like a voyeur so effectively have you transported me into the life of another. I love the colours to - the dark washed out green and the hint of red on the top of the little one. This is one of those images where the details serve to immerse the viewer - the texture on the fabric of her leg and the fabric of her seat, the clasp on the window, the light catching her eye - excellent. I really like the extensive motion blur outside the window.
Critical stuff: Nothing at all.
Overall: Subtle, wonderful stuff. |
