XXby dainmcgowanComment: I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.
Positives: Nice use of perspective and I appreciate the nested symmetry. I can see that you have crafted an image from very little really.
Critical stuff: Although I can appreciate your photography here, I think the scene itself hasn't helped you much.
Overall: A good attempt at dressing up a fairly dull scene - there is probably more of the photographer's hand here than in many images. |

Positives: This is a most interesting image - childlike but surprisingly dark too. Fabulous colours and the eyes are amazingly captivating. The matching flowers are a nice touch too.
Critical stuff: Nothing at all.
Overall: A really great image. |

Broken Umbrellaby APComment: I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.
Positives: Stand-out post processing (a Nik filter?). The tilt works really well too. The main subject is compelling enough but for me the scene / environment is the star here.
Critical stuff: Not much at all.
Overall: An interesting and successful image. |

Whiz Kidby RKTComment: Funny, a bit bizarre, but actually pretty well executed too. |

Fishing at Sunsetby vladoComment: I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.
Positives: Beautiful composition and coloration. Lovely light too. Very pretty image indeed.
I really like the vignette effect too.
Critical stuff: I'd like it to be a bit bigger - I think you could have lost a little bit from the left side to give more area within the 800px limit.
Overall: Great stuff. |

Close Encounters of a Bovine Kindby mpetersComment: I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.
Positives: Love this! I'm not sure you can go wrong with a close-up cow. Great colours too. The POV makes the image and although the DOF is limited I think it still works.
Critical stuff: Not much - a bit of chromatic aberration in places and yes on reflection I would have like to have seen a bit more depth of field.
Overall: Great image - loads of fun. |

grey going awayby smardazComment: I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.
Positives: Great moody image - bring your own story stuff. I really like the POV and the use of the straight lines.
Critical stuff: I'm not a fan of your conversion, I think a stronger contrast treatment might have been better - the grain too, enough to annoy but not enough to delight.
Overall: I really like the idea but I'm not sure this is an optimal edit. |

Positives: Lovely coloration and I like how you have controlled the transparency of the various parts of the image.
Critical stuff: It is very disorientating - I actually have to look away after about 5 seconds or I feel dizzy.
Overall: Not quite as effective as it is unusual but interesting nonetheless. |

Exercise Ball with Dog, named G G Peeby DeelyoComment: I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.
Positives: Completely bizarre composition - I love that you've stuffed something so random into a FS. Ummm.... what else?
Critical stuff: I could just say 'why' but you would say 'why not?' and rightly so. I am normally a fan of grain but here - this gritty, noisy look is a little ugly.
Overall: I get the feeling you know exactly what you are doing here. |
