.:: Peekaboot ! ::.by JacksonGarietyComment: Very nice image and great title - even before I read the comment from skewsme I thought 'crop the top' (and rotate about 5 degrees clockwise). Wonderful colours though and a great subject too.
Accomplished work.

Mean Girlby TerramarComment: I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.
Positives: I like unusual portraits and this is no exception. The juxtaposition of the cute kid, manic expression and funky processing make this a stand-out image.
Critical stuff: Although I like the high key look, I think the highlights could be controlled a bit better.
Overall: Intriguing stuff, glad to have viewed it. |

Excelent window dressing by JohannesFrankComment: I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.
Positives: I really like this; great framing of the enthusiastic subjects, great reflection, great coloration and great meta-framing offered by ivy. It all hangs together really well.
Critical stuff: Nothing.
Overall: Very well crafted image - I like it a lot. |

A Day At the Beachby JeffryZComment: I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.
Positives: An image that immediately appealed to me; subtle, understated and flat-out pretty to look at. You have captured wonderful light here and an interesting story to boot.
Critical stuff: Just about choices really - I wonder whether a tighter crop on the walking figure and the station might work well too. Also, the coloration works but I wonder about monochrome too.....
Overall: A very nice image - top drawer stuff. |

First Morning in Barcelonaby mathewjsandersComment: I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.
Positives: The mood you have created caught me; I found I couldn't pass it by. You have a beautiful model to photograph and you choose to not allow her to dominate the image; instead you show her in a rich context, with truly wonderful light. With that choice you transport us from viewer to visitor - I get a sense of how the room feels; almost makes me want to take a deep breath of the Spanish air.
Critical stuff: I'd like to say the crop - I probably would have lost some of the top of the image.... but I suspect your ability and confidence has enabled you to make a better choice than I would've.
Overall: Supremely subtle; as much about what you haven't done as much as what you have. Excellent. |

Ticketby bvyComment: I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.
Positives: I kind of like this image, the way it reminds us of a little-looked-at world the rolls under our feet as we go about out business. You have managed to communicate texture to us in a very effective way.
Critical stuff: Given the elements of the image and the limited interest in the scene, I don't find the framing adds much. I was one of he things that you, as a photographer, could have and should have optimised to get the most out of the scene.
Overall: OK as far as it goes; and I do like the premise of the image; but in the final analysis, I'm not sure the whole delivers enough to be successful. |
